Weakness: does not last long. horrible customer support.

I redid my kitchen 9 years ago and have already had 3 of these due to various failures. This time the tank gave out an flooded my sink cabinet with water. Unfortunately, once you use this model, you can't use any other without major changes to the installation because of the size and hookup. There is a reason they only give you a 1 year warranty. Do your self a favor and buy a more expensive unit...

Terrible Product

Strengths: The idea behind the product

Weakness: Poorly engineered product.

My house is three years old and I've had two of these dispensers. Neither worked properly. They both quit heating water after several months, and sputtered and spewed, and it was only used occasionally by adults. Now just cold water comes out. I'm buying a different brand next time.

Don't buy

Strengths: none

Weakness: Black plastic lever breaks off. Water not hot enough. sputters.

In two years of use by 2 people, the black plastic handle has snapped off. Also the unit sputters steam and hot water. The manufacturer says to turn the temp. down to avoid this, but your have to turn it down so low that then the water is not hot enough. My unit is not under warranty for the handle as the warranty is only good for one year. Don't buy this as it is made cheaply.

My Hot Shot 1 has lasted since 2004

I got almost nine years of service from this product. Yes, it occasionally sputtered and the handle broke twice. But I called customer service, and received a free handle both times. I used it a lot. Am now going to order another one to replace it. Hopefully, this one will last 9 years also.(I had the first one installed, will try to install this one ourselves.)

I bought this Instant Hot Water Dispenser model because of the faucet height. This particular model has the tank right under the faucet, however, which was not made clear on the box or brochure. This forced me to make a new hole (I was replacing a previous model which had burned out) because the tank wouldn't fit where the old faucet had been. The faucet valve appears to be flimsy. The faucet frequently dribbles, and steams, and the valve handle is not at all solid feeling. "Flimsy" is the term that comes to mind. I have no reason to think this product will last very long.
