After losing power for 8 days during Irene and then 8 days for Sandy it was time to purchase a generater. After many months of online research and contemplating the purchase of a stand-by generator with nat gas I elected to not break the piggy bank and instead purchase a portable unit. I check out many reviews online and decided on this model. Upon receipt of the generator which took almost two weeks I had my electrician stop by and he installed a 10 circuit manual transfer switch. Upon assembling the negative battery cable, wheels, adding oil, and gas, we wheeled generator to side of my house and plugged into the 32amp twist lock outlet and then turned key and it started right up. We turned on all 10 circuits and the generator did not get bogged down at all it worked just fine. I will test it again in a few weeks but I know we are ready now for the next big hurricane or storm. Its a great feeling to have a emergency back up plan. Peace of mind well worth the cost. Best, Dan

Absolutely great generator

Purchased this 2 years ago after being without power for a week from hurricane Irene. This is a fantastic generator - it runs my entire house, is easy to store/start/use -- and was a life saver after winter storm Nemo. Purchased this 2 years ago after being without power for a week from hurricane Irene. This is a fantastic generator - it runs my entire house, is easy to store/start/use -- and was a life saver after winter storm Nemo. We were without power for 4 days in 8 degree cold and it ran the entire house including furnace, refrigerator, stove etc... It's great on gas and worked without a flaw. Yes, it is a little noisy - but frankly a large generator would be. Can't say enough good things and that this was a total life saver!!!!!!

Best Bang for the buck......I can power all of what I need:oil furnace & hot water, well pump, fridge, freezer, lights here and there, TV, coffee machine and toaster........we're good to go. Up to 10,000 surge watts

This product was out of stock for some time and I was tempted to buy a different generator. I'm glad I didn't! Everything about this generator says "quality". The instructions are easy to understand, it was simple to assemble and started on the third pull of the cord. This generator runs much quieter than my old generator.
